(Oil Bath Massage)

Pizhichil is a treatment procedure in which the patients whole body is bathed in streams of warm herbal oil for a fixed duration of time with soft gentle massage in a rhythmic way, which gives the effect of both oleation as well as sudation. Hence it is also called as Tailadhara, Sarvangadhara, Kayaseka.

The Ayurvedic term Pizhichil translates to squeezing. The medicated oil for the massage therapy is squeezed from a cloth dipped in the warm medicated oil over the patient’s body.

Pizhichil the topmost rejuvenation treatment of Ayurveda. A true gift from Ayurveda to become young again. This treatment may last from seven to twenty-one days.

How it works:
Pouring of the warm oil all over the body make the peripheral nerves soothe and increase the blood circulation. Thereby absorption of the medicaments will be enhanced and the herbs act on the target organs. The warmth of the oil relieves the pain and stiffness of the joints and mobilizes it.
