About Yoga

Yoga is like Music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul; creating a symphony of life.

The word ‘Yoga’ means union. Yoga unites an individual with the reality. Yoga and Meditation are the processes to attain equilibrium between the body systems and nature.

Contrary to popular belief, Yoga is not just about physical postures and breathing techniques but in whole yoga is a scientific system covering the vast arrays of the philosophy, psychology, mysticism, religion, music, literature, dance and other forms of arts.

Yoga therapy is a way to bring all the body systems in sync, thereby obtaining the healthiest state for the yoga practitioner.

At the advanced stages of Yoga, a yogi can realize the universal consciousness, uniting the ‘self’ with the ‘supreme’.

At ‘VEDAN’ We Provide:

Personalized Yoga Consultation:

  • One-on-one personalized yoga sessions, tailoring these private sessions to the physical, mental and spiritual needs of each individual. If you have a particular injury or issue that you would like to address in your yoga practice outside of a general yoga class then a private consultation is for you.
  • If you have specific injuries, chronic illness, tight hamstrings, knee problems, hip issues, thyroid issues, back problems, or are looking to increase energy and reduce stress then a personalized, custom practice is perfect for you.

Yogasana:

Asana is a Sanskrit term which is often translated as “posture” or “pose.” Asana can also be translated as “a steady, comfortable seat,” particularly for the purpose of meditation.

Yogasana exercises are helpful in boosting the health of every organ of the body. Regular practice of yoga improves immunity, strength, blood circulation, and energy in the body.

The mental techniques include breathing exercises or ‘pranayama’ and meditation or ‘dhyana’ to discipline the mind.

Our Yoga Classes include Asana & Pranayama (to understand the postures of Hatha Yoga and the importance of breathing), Surya Namaskar (a morning ritual to energise your body), AsthangaVinyasa (for advanced students looking for additional strength, stamina and flexibility) among many others.

Pranayama: (Breath practices)

Working intentionally with the breath is one of our most potent allies in maintaining health and wellness. It’s portable. It’s flexible. It’s simple. Everyone can do it!
We will train you to implement a personalized pranayama practice in everyday life.

Therapeutic Yoga:

Therapeutic yoga is a group of restorative yoga therapies which are gentle yet effective. Therapeutic yoga has been beneficial in chronic illness and injury.

Meditation:

Meditation is both the symbol and expression of our intention to grow.

The chief purpose of Meditation is to attain a calm mind. Regular Meditation reduces the stress levels, improves the concentration, and slows the ageing process. Meditation also creates a favorable environment for other therapies to work effectively.

Mantra: (Chant Practices)

Mantra—working intentionally with the voice—is a powerful ally when used as part of a daily wellness routine. As with pranayama breathing practices, there are many different chants that can be used, depending on what effect you intend to achieve. We will guide you in finding yours.

YogNidra:

It is the epitome of relaxation while the body is resting completely while doing meditation. It makes the senses alert and allows the body to heal itself. In the Yoga Nidra, an individual experiences different level of consciousness and the body is totally relaxed.

Choose from our classes offering Basic yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation, YogNidra, Mantra Chanting to aid relaxation, prepare, purify and calm your mind, enhancing memory and concentration.
